About Abode

Owners have always traded property with one another. Abode gives you a modern way to do it directly.

How it used to work

For much of history, property changed hands between the owners themselves. Two people who wanted what the other had would agree on terms, shake hands and, in time, sign a deed that was recorded at the local courthouse.

As markets grew, more middlemen joined in: agents, listing services, lenders and layers of paperwork. Today most transactions carry fees at every step.

What Abode does

Abode is a technology platform where owners list a property, find a match and trade directly with another owner. There are no agents and no commissions. You make every decision yourself. Our aim is to make the process clearer and more direct, and to help you keep more of your money.

A trade still has real costs, such as inspections, notary and recording fees, and any taxes that apply. Abode does not guarantee savings or any outcome. What we take out is the commission and the layers in between. Abode's own fees are a one-time listing fee and optional memberships. We charge nothing on the trade itself. See pricing.

What we believe

Abode is a technology platform. It is not a real estate broker, agent, lender, attorney or title company, and it does not give legal, financial or tax advice. A trade proposal on Abode is not a binding contract.
